The previous toast Guinness world record was 27,126 participants, at the Meiji Jingu Stadium in Tokyo.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most champagne corks popped simultaneously: 2,778 - achieved on Banca Mediolanum 25th Anniversary's toast, at BPA Palas in Pesaro, Italy.
Boston Red Sox game attendees celebrated the history and tradition of Fenway Park, the oldest operating Major League ballpark in the U.S., with a pre-game ceremony featuring the team's living legends - more than 200 former players and coaches - and the toast, led by former Red Sox players Pedro Martinez and Kevin Millar.
"The toast celebrating a century of Fenway Park and Red Sox moments was the perfect way to conclude our April 20 celebrations," said Red Sox Executive Vice President/COO Sam Kennedy.
"Having our living legends, current players and staff, and thousands of fans raise a glass of the hometown favorite Welch's Sparkling Grape Juice was the perfect way to salute our ballpark."
The 100th birthday toast celebrated a century of Fenway memories and marked the start of Welch's partnership for the 2012 season as the official juice and jelly of the Boston Red Sox.
