Oldest paperboy: Newt Wallace breaks Guinness world record
WINTERS, CA, USA -- Since 1947, Newt Wallace, 93, has walked the same paper route every week, delivering copies of the Winters Express to the residents of Winters, California, setting the new world record for the Oldest paperboy,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the longest time an individual has worked for the same company is 80 years, a record set by Thomas Stoddard (b. 1912) who started working at Speakman Company located in Wilmington, Delaware, USA, on 16 February 1928 as a mail boy until his retirement in 2008 as a member of the Board of Directors.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest career as a postal worker: 53 years and 48 days, achieved by Takashi Miyaoka (Japan) who worked at the Shinjuku postal office in Tokyo, Japan.
Mr. Newt Wallace is a full eight months older than the current Guinness World Record holder, Ted Ingram.
As the nonagenarian reflects on a time when he was many peoples' primary source of the news, The Times points to Wallace as a dying breed, just like the papers he has painstakingly delivered for over 80 years.
"I don't hunt or play golf; I deliver papers," Mr. Wallace said recently as he walked his route. "I like delivering papers. I get to see the people I know."
