Biggest tea bowl: China breaks Guinness world record
BEIJING, China -- A 200kg ceramic tea bowl debuted at the Laoshe Teahouse, a world-famous Chinese folk teahouse in Beijing; the huge bowl, made by craft masters in Jingdezhen, measures 75x88 cm, setting the new world record for the Biggest tea bowl,

The Guinness world record for the Largest tea dance was set by 306 couples who took part in a tea dance in George Square, Glasgow, Scotland, UK, on 12 September 2010. The event was organized by the Evening Times newspaper in association with Glasgowlife and Glasgow Housing Association.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest tea bag; it weighs 120 kg (264 lb 8.8 oz) and was achieved by All About Tea (UK) on board HMS Warrior in Portsmouth, UK, on 16 November 2011. The tea bag measures 2.48 m (8 ft 1.64 in) in length and width.

The 75x88 cm-bowl is currently the biggest of its kind in the world.
Its makers have also applied to have it listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, too.
The party at which the bowl debuted was held to mark the tenth anniversary of the death of teahouse founder Yin Shengxi.
In Chinese society, the younger generation always shows their respect to the older generation by offering a cup of tea. Inviting their elders to go to restaurants and having some tea is a traditional activity on holidays.
