Largest Sangria: Tampa restaurant breaks Guinness world record
TAMPA, FL, USA -- The staff at Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant made a one ton Sangria with 750 bottles of wine, 500 pounds of fruit and with a few other ingredients during Ceviche's first Sangria Fest, setting the new world record for the Largest pitcher of sangria,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The previous Guinness world record for the
largest Sanfria was set by Real Sangria, with 500 liters of Sangria served to the public from a giant glass bottle at the Calle Ocho Festival honoring the 500th Anniversary of the Discovery of Florida.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest cup/glass of soft drink; it contains 5,534 litres of lemonade (194,769.49 UK fl oz; 187,126.8 US fl oz) and was created by Batroun Traders Association (Lebanon), in Batroun, Lebanon.
With variations including red, white and sparkling, Sangria is a typical drink served throughout Spain, Portugal and Argentina and consists of primarily of wine, brandy and chopped fruit such as oranges, apples, peaches or berries.
"Sangria is our best-selling drink, we're very well known for our sangria. We've sold millions of sangria in the 16 years that we've been in Tampa. So we figured, what better way to celebrate our sweet 16 in Tampa, than set the official record for the world's largest," the Bay News 9 reported.
This was Ceviche's first Sangria Fest.
A portion of the money raised at the event will go towards disaster relief for the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma.
