Largest caprine cheese: Greek farmers sets world record
Ierissos, Chalkidiki, Greece -- The huge caprine cheese made by a cheese-making unit in Ierissos of Chalkidiki, owned by Ioannis Stathoris, weighted 939 kilos , setting the world record for the Largest caprine cheese.

The previous Guinness world record for the largest goat cheese was a 850 kg cheese made by 25 Italian volunteers from Castel di Lama.
The Guinness world record for the largest sheep's cheese weighed 534.7 kg (1,178.8 lb) and was prepared by Comitato Promotore Fiera Castel Di Lama (Italy).
Guinness World Records also recognized the largest soft cheese, made by Edelweiss Kaesewerk, Kempten, Germany weighing 180 kg (396.8 lb).
The representative of the Guinness World Records, Jack Brockbank gave the certificate of the inscription in the book of the world records to the owner of the dairy Ioannis Stathoris, within the 21st International Exhibition of Food and Drinks Detrop.
"The cheese under the name of "carprine rock" weighted 939 kilos", stated Ioannis Stathoris who looked really proud of his achievement.
