Nanyang, Henan, China -- A team of chefs from Xiangnian Food Co. Ltd spent 17 hours rolling out a single strip of noodle measuring a enormous 3,084 m (10,119 ft 1.92 in), which sets the new world record for the Longest noodle, according to the World Record Academy.

Despite being nearly two miles long, chefs from Xiangnian Food Co. Ltd followed a traditional ramen noodle recipe.
The noodle was cooked in garlic, egg and tomato sauce, and served to 400 employees and guests present to witness the event.
Noodles are a symbol of longevity in China so Xiangnian invited its employees to take part in the record attempt and bring their elderly relatives and family members along to enjoy the noodle.
The GUINNESS WORLD RECORD (TM) for the longest egg noodle measured 160 m (525 ft) and was prepared by Sorge's Restaurant in Corning, New York, USA, on 4 June 2011. The cooked noodle weighed 13.41 kg (29 lb 9 oz).
GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS (TM) also recognized the world record for the longest rice noodle; it measured 548.7 m (1,800 ft 2 in) and was made by Council for Hakka Affairs Executive Yuan (Taiwan) at Taipei County Hakka Museum, Sansia, Taiwan, on 28 December 2008. 20 people participated and it took them 7 hours to make the noodle. 420 kg of rice was used to make the dough.
