Slimmest Smartphone: Huawei Ascend P1S sets world record (Video & Photos)
LAS VEGAS, NV, USA -- Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, launched the Ascend P1 and P1 S smartphones (both running on Android 4.0 ICS) at CES 2012; the new smartphones are almost identical except the size of the chassis and bit smaller battery of the P1 as compared to P1 S, which is 6.68 mm thick - setting the new world record for the Slimmest smartphone., according to World Record Academy (www.worldrecordacademy.com).

The Guinness world record for the largest QR code measured 16.81 m² (180.94 ft²) and was achieved by Fiera Bolzano Spa (Italy), in Bolzano, Italy.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the first mobile phone to use a dual core processor: the LG Optimus 2X, which was first made available to the public nationwide in South Korea.
Huawei is looking to get into the high-end smartphone market with their Ascend P1 and Ascend P1 S. The Ascend P1 S is currently the world's thinnest smartphone, measuring in at only 6.68mm thin; the Ascend P1 is slightly thicker at 7.69mm.
The camera located at the rear size of the device is of 8 mega pixels and there is a 1.3 mega pixels sensor in the front with HDR technology and LED flash.
According to Richard Yu, chairman at Huawei, the cost of the devices will be somewhat around US$400.
