 Largest spaghetti structure: Iranian students set world record (VIDEO)

  Qazvin, Iran -- Iranian students from the Qazvin branch of the Islamic Azad University have used 33,000 meters of spaghetti to build a 24 meters long, five meters tall and 5.5 meters wide structure, setting the world record for the largest spaghetti structure, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

  The Guinness world record for the largest box of pasta measures 1.54 m (5 ft 0.6 in) in height and 1.30 m (4 ft 3.8 in) in width and was created by Barilla Gida A.S. (Turkey), in Istanbul, Turkey.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest bowl of pasta, which weighed 6,253 kg (13,786 lb) and was made by Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant (USA), at the chain's Anaheim restaurant, Garden Grove, California, USA.
  
   Iranian students from the Qazvin branch of the Islamic Azad University constructed the world's largest structure of macaroni, ISNA reported.

  The world's largest spaghetti structure is of 24 meters in length, five meters in height and 5.5 meters in width.

  Building the largest macaroni structure in the world started in July 2011 and completed in September, the head of the group of builders told the ISNA News Agency.

  Over 33,000 meters of macaroni has been used for building the world's largest spaghetti structure, which weights about 103 kgs.

  It was noted, that while the structure is built completely of spaghetti, in the future similar structures can be built of other materials, such as aluminum.
